Lulu was a tiny abandoned pup when we rescued her. Her belly was distended with a massive worm infestation and she was weak and dehydrated.
Lucky for Lulu, her rescuers came just in time. Lulu spent a few days at a veterinary clinic and then was lucky enough to find space in a foster home where she could recover.
By the time Lulu was healthy and ready for the sanctuary, it was summer and low season for adoptions. She and a number of other young puppies frolicked around the sanctuary all summer.
We always hope to see puppies adopted at a young age. Puppies have a much better socialization experience with families compared to the sanctuary.
Lulu was close to 8 months old when she got her chance to join a forever family in Canada. She is all grown up and lives in Vancouver now.
